The lead is formed around objects synonymous with the built environment.
Hammers fall in series, suggesting the hand of the worker, which is simultaneously absent from the image. Strike. As the hammer falls, it holds the potential for both construction and ruin.
The lead, acquired from the scrap yard, holds its own traces of construction and weathering. Corners clipped and bent, holes for nails. Toxic to the body, the finished work is eventually sealed to contain its toxicity.
Taps and sockets also recur in these images, the outlets for services. The interfaces between the backend of the construction and the spaces we inhabit. We turn the tap and the water flows, we plug in the socket to recharge our phones.
