Filmed at Labre Huis, a former squat turned collective housing project in Utrecht, 'We need to speak about living room', drew on the process of family constellation therapy and roleplay to explore how shared ideals of collective living are formed and sustained.  

while attending to the tensions, conflicts, and emotional complexities that often resist documentation. The project asks how communal histories are shaped not only by what is recorded and preserved, but also by what remains unresolved, unspoken, or difficult to contain within conventional archival frameworks.






uses the function of role play to explore questions of how we live together. The film brings together participants to enact experiences and conflicts of shared living within a communal house.

The contemporary context is depicted alongside archival material from historic housing movements in the Netherlands.
