Soft Shoulder / SWG3 Gallery

Soft Shoulder explored car culture in Dundee and the surrounding areas where the ‘boy racer’ is king. The film, Circling Roads, was shot during road trips with Rue, a ‘girl racer’ from Abroath.

Leading from this began an ongoing investigation into the historic gendering of industries and the materials that exist within them. This avenue of research has become fundamental to my practice and the ways of thinking through materials.
